The Progressive Liberal Party (PLP) will hold an event at the Baha Mar Convention Center on February 16th to mark the beginning of their campaign for the 2026 general election.
PLP National Chairman, the Hon. Fred Mitchell provided a preview of the event while speaking with ZNS News over the weekend. He said, “well a Party, in order for it to survive in the long term has to renew itself, and the occasion for doing so is whenever there’s a general election. So new people have to come in, there’ve got to be low barriers to entry for the Party, in other words it can’t be difficult to join. It can’t be too easy but it can’t be difficult. And people have to be able to buy into the message. Each birth cohort has to be able to say the Progressive Liberal Party and its policies are things which we believe in, the values we accept and which we will take forward. I think the Party’s done a good job of that at every renewal cycle and we’ve done that this time.”
All of the party’s candidates are expected to be in attendance at the event. The keynote address will be delivered by Party Leader and Prime Minister, the Hon. Philip Davis.
