The news of Elaine Cash-Ferguson’s death hits with great sadness.
Elaine was a talented veteran broadcast journalist. She was committed to the purpose and excellence of the profession.
Her long-term contributions to the Broadcating Corporation of The Bahamas are well noted. Elaine was among a special class of ZNS broadcasters who took pride in being products of the island of Eleuthera; the late Calsey Johnson, Martin Albury, and many others represent this proud Pineapple lot.
I met Elaine at University in Raleigh, North Carolina decades ago. We were both English Majors and International English Honour Society inductees.
She was a dedicated top student and an academic inspiration for many.
I join the thousands who attended St. Augustine’s University in extending heartfelt condolences to the family and colleagues of this true Christian woman, wonderful mother and wife and model professional.
May her soul rest in peace and rise in Glory.
