Members of the Progressive Liberal Party (PLP) held a ceremony at PLP Headquarters on Wednesday commemorating Majority Rule Day.
Prime Minister and PLP Party Leader, the Hon. Philip Davis addressed the gathering saying, “while we can and should be very proud of the historic, fundamental role the Progressive Liberal Party played in achieving majority rule, the importance and the promise of majority rule belongs to all Bahamians, not just the PLP. Indeed majority rule stands for the unassailable principle that every Bahamian irrespective of background, race or gender has the right to have a voice in shaping the destiny of our nation.”
A wreath was laid following the ceremony by former Governor General, Dame Marguerite Pindling and wife of the Prime Minister, Ann Marie Davis.
