The Progressive Liberal Party held a rally in Grand Bahama over the weekend as they continue their West Grand Bahama and Bimini by-election campaign.  Party Leader and Prime Minister, the Hon. Philip Davis and PLP candidate, Kingsley Smith were among the speakers.

Davis told the crowd, “we’re asking you to pass the baton on to Kingsley to finish what Obie started.  Kingsley didn’t wake up one morning and decide all of a sudden that he cared about people.  He’s one of you.  He’s a boy from Bootle Bay and he has a strong track record of giving back to the community.  He’s shown he commitment over the years coaching and mentoring your children.  He started a baseball league because he know sports is one of the best ways to help young people learn about discipline, strength and collaboration.”

For his part, Smith said, “I am committed to continuing and completing the projects Obie started.  I am committed to building the kind of future you deserve.  But I can’t do this alone, West Grand Bahama and Bimini I need you.” He added, “here’s what’s in it for you.  A new government complex right here in Eight Mile Rock.  A new school for our kids in Holmes Rock, more affordable houses and home repairs.  Together we will clean up the streets, build new sea walls and when storms hit we’ll have a safe place.”

The West Grand Bahama and Bimini by-election is set for November 22nd.
