Prime Minister, the Hon. Philip Davis described the death of the Late Hon. Vaughn P. Miller as a loss felt not only in government but in homes and communities across our country.
The Prime Minister was speaking at a press briefing at the Disaster Risk Management Authority on Monday where he used a portion of his remarks to reflect on the life of the fallen Cabinet minister. He said, “he began his life’s work in the church ministering to people’s spiritual needs. And when he stepped into public service he carried that same calling with him.”
Before running for Parliament, Vaughn Miller was a veteran radio announcer at the Broadcasting Corporation and a Pastor. Mr. Davis said, “in Cabinet he offered counsel that was wise and grounded. In Parliament, he stood firm for his constituents. In his community he was a neighbour, a Pastor and a friend.”
According to Police the late Minister collapsed on Hawkins Hill on Sunday at around 1 am. He was taken to Doctors Hospital by private vehicle after CPR was performed.
Prime Minister Davis ended by offering condolences to Miller’s wife, son and other family members.
The Cabinet Office has ordered that flags be flown at half-staff until October 4th.
