Prime Minister, the Hon. Philip Davis gave an update on the country’s commitment to send 150 officers to Haiti as part of a multi-national peacekeeping mission.
He told reporters, “the next step moving forward is to settle the logistics of any of our troops going. We’re not just going to send them there without having a broad understanding of the mandate. There’s a draft resolution that needs to be tweaked. We’re waiting for the final to come to us. When that has come we’ll then have conversations with the lead team that will be going in there, that will be truly leading that the principal actors in this whole assistance, Kenya, and then we will decide how that will look.”
Haiti has been in a state of unrest since the assassination of President Jovenel Moïse.
