Prime Minister, the Hon. Philip Davis has responded to calls for the resignation of Minister of Labour and Immigration, the Hon. Keith Bell. Minister Bell has been under fire for conferring citizenship on the wife and children of Franck Racine at his funeral service held at Metropolitan Church of the Nazarene. Bell’s actions was recorded and circulated on social media.
Mr. Davis spoke to reporters while attending a one day conference on sustainable development goals this week. He said, “I think he’s acknowledged that it was unconventional. And I don’t think that rise to the point where he needs to resign.
Among those calling for Bell’s resignation is the former minister responsible for immigration Brent Symonette.
