The police on the island of Grand Bahama are reporting that they are noticing a number of persons with mental illnesses leaving their homes without proper supervision.
Police Press Liaison Officer on Grand Bahama, Assistant Superintendent Stephen Rolle, told ZNS News, “the police wish to advise the public who have loved ones with special needs to please be more attentive to those loves ones and to always know their whereabouts. and if by chance you have to leave the island for any reason, please leave those loved ones with a responsible relative or in the custody of a caring person. And if they are on medication please ensure that they are given their medication in a timely manner. We the police wants them all to remain safe.”
Shaquille Ferguson and Stephanie Chisholm have both been reported missing. ASP Rolle says that the Police are still searching but that there are no leads presently. He also said, “the police are doing their part, the family members need to assists us as well in looking for these individuals. We’re doing all we can to make sure they return home safely.”
