Police are investigating two homicides that occurred in the capital on Wednesday. The first was the shooting death of a man on Parkgate and Village Roads.
Police Press Liaison Officer, Chief Superintendent Chrislyn Skippings provided details of the incident on the scene. She said, “a driver of a small Japanese vehicle was at the intersection of Parkgate and Village Roads when a vehicle, another silver Japanese vehicle, pulled along side and opened fire on that vehicle striking the driver multiple times.”
According to police the deceased was on bail for murder and scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
While at the scene on Parkgate Road police were called to another murder scene on Pineyard Road where a man, unofficially identified as Israel Gibson, had been shot and killed.
Skippings informed, “a concerned resident came outside, made a check at the southern boundary of his yard and through a track road discovered a male unresponsive. EMS were notified, they responded and indicate the male was found with multiple gunshot injuries.”
The Chief Superintendent also made an appeal to families of person with weapons to provide the information to police.
These latest incidents bring the murder count for the year to fourteen.
