Prime Minister, the Hon. Philip Davis is currently attended COP 27 in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt. Davis has argued strongly internationally for loss and damage funding for countries most impacted by climate change such as The Bahamas.
The Prime Minister sent a message home as Tropical Storm Nicole passed over the northern Bahamas. He said, “remember that the Lord is not gonna put on us more than we can bear. I understand that drama that you’re undergoing now. The recall that you would be having, after Dorian, with this visiting of Nicole. Just please stay safe, adhere to the warnings. I want to thank the acting prime minister, Chester Cooper, for his efforts to ensure that the word got out and taking the necessary action to ensure that lives are not lost and damage is minimum.”
Mr. Davis says his first priority upon his return will be to assess and address normalization.
