Prime Minister pushes for extension of emergency order

Prime Minister, the Most Hon. Dr. Hubert Minnis intends to move a resolution today in the house of assembly to extend the emergency orders to May 23rd.

Proceedings begin at 10am on the parliamentary channel 420.

The Prime Minister made the announcement during a brief sitting of parliament on Monday.

At that time, he also urged Bahamians and residents alike to follow the covid-19 protocols and to not let their guard down.

“If we remain vigilant, we will be able to protect our future and our society.

“I want to remind the Bahamian public that I’m not trying to be hard or difficult.

“I love them very much, but I love even more my country and the future survival of our country and our young people, whom we preserve our country for and whom we try to ensure that they have a great future” the Prime Minister said.
