Members of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force (RBDF) attended their annual church service at Living Waters Kingdom Ministries on Sunday. Governor General, His Excellency the Most Hon. Sir Cornelius Smith, Prime Minister the Hon. Philip Davis, Minister of National Security, the Hon. Wayne Munroe along with other government officials were in attendance.
Leader of the RBDF, Commodore Dr. Raymond King spoke of plans for the organization including vessel retirements and other initiatives to fulfill the RBDF’s mandate.
Prime Minister Davis also delivered remarks at the service. He told congregants, “I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the men and women of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force. You who don the uniform and serve with honour are the backbone of our great nation. Your courage, dedication and professionalism are crucial in maintaining our nation’s sovereignty and ensuring the safety of our people. The theme for this year’s service, ‘The Pursuit of Excellence As Guardians Of Our Heritage, Nation Builders and Community Leaders,’ is a testament to the RBDF’s relentless pursuit of excellence in all aspects of its operations. By safeguarding our heritage, you preserve the rich history and cultural identity.”
