Minister of Agriculture and Marine Resources, the Hon. Jomo Campbell revealed at a press event on Monday that the process to identify land for the cultivation of medical marijuana has begun.
Campbell told reporters, “there are five areas right now under consideration. As you know this particular industry won’t be as simple as just farming in the ground. So we’re doing soil evaluation etc. to ensure that the best location is picked and selected for when it becomes necessary.”
The cannabis legislation was passed in both houses of parliament in 2024.
