Press Release
Residents of Sea Breeze gathered at Charles Carter Park on Sunday afternoon for the constituency’s Holly Jolly Christmas Party, a festive community event created for residents to officially kick off the holiday season. Families turned out in strong numbers to enjoy an afternoon of activities, entertainment, and seasonal cheer alongside their Member of Parliament, Mrs. Leslia Miller-Brice.
Children were at the heart of the celebration, with attractions catering to all ages. Traditional games such as hoopla stood alongside face painting, a rock-climbing wall, bouncing castles, slides, and other interactive stations spread across the park. Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus were on hand throughout the afternoon, posing for photos with eager children. The Grinch also made a lively appearance drawing laughter and excitement. An additional holiday-themed photo booth, complete with festive signage, props, and novelty headgear, proved to be another popular stop for families capturing memories of the day.
Food offerings added to the festive atmosphere, giving everyone plenty to enjoy between activities. Savory meals were served by Manuelo’s, while sweet treats included ice cream and a waffle station that quickly became a crowd favorite. Games and friendly competitions such as sack races and tug-of-war kept both children and adults engaged. Hosting the event was AC who kept energy high, while DJ Godson got the crowd moving with everything from holiday favorites to Junkanoo. Prizes including tablets and other hot ticket holiday gifts were awarded throughout the afternoon, adding another layer of excitement and encouraging healthy competition and community spirit.
The gathering reflected a constituency with much to celebrate. During her term, Miller-Brice has maintained an active presence in Sea Breeze, supporting local businesses and entrepreneurs, assisting families through back-to-school initiatives, and overseeing long-awaited infrastructure improvements that have addressed persistent issues such as rusty water in the area.
Despite brief passing showers, the afternoon continued uninterrupted and even included the appearance of a rainbow over Charles Carter Park – an apt sign of a joyful day. As the sun set, constituents were treated to a spectacular fireworks display, a bright symbol representing an optimistic outlook for the community moving forward into a happy holiday season and a prosperous new year.
