Talks of a global recession impacting the Bahamian economy are being addressed by the Governor of the Central Bank, John Rolle.
Rolle said, “the travel sector is still growing back into the capacity to even service the demand and needs of consumers. So even with the drag that is happening on global economic activities and the likely impact that higher interest rates will have we are experiencing and benefitting from the pent up demand for travel that was not met or satisfied at the height of the pandemic. And that recovery for us is going to overpower some of the other negative trends that are out there in the global environment.”
