Corporate citizens operating in the Collins Avenue area collaborated to provide Christmas gifts to the students at Columbus Primary School on Friday.
Dr. Eugene Cooper of Gastrocare Bahamas spoke with ZNS News on the sidelines of the event. He said, “we work in this community every day. We drive in then we leave and drive home and we thought that it was time that we sort of focus some of our attention on this community that we didn’t know a whole lot about. So we decided to look for a need. Christmas is always a good time to give and people are in a generous mood.”
Member of Parliament for Centreville, the Hon. Jomo Campbell was also in attendance. He explained, “what’s better than having Santa Claus come to your personally to deliver your gifts. Cause we know the situations, we know the backgrounds that some of them come from. And so if we can provide just a little spark of inspiration in their lives that goes a long way and that’s what its all about building the future generation.”
This is the third year Campbell has partnered with corporate citizens to put on the event.
