In a heartfelt demonstration of corporate responsibility, Jimmy’s Wines & Spirits (JWS) has once again partnered with the Cancer Society of The Bahamas to support its vital work in the fight against cancer.
The funds raised this year came from a special promotion centered on Sands Beers’ “Pink” Radlers. For each three-pack of Pink Radlers sold, $1 was donated, and $2 from each six-pack sold. The return of the Radler, following a production hiatus after Hurricane Dorian, has been met with enthusiasm from its strong fan base, and this campaign reflects Sands’ renewed emphasis on showcasing the unique strengths of its individual brands.
The funds were officially presented to the Cancer Society late last month and are earmarked to enhance the Cancer Caring Center, which offers free accommodations for patients from the Family Islands undergoing treatment
in New Providence.
Omega Miller, an Administrative Assistant at the Cancer Society, highlighted the donation’s importance. “We sincerely appreciate this timely Sands donation. Our current Caring Center has ten rooms, and now we’re
expanding it to add another ten rooms to help more patients.”
The Cancer Society has been at the forefront of raising awareness, promoting early detection, and supporting cancer patients for nearly five decades. According to Miller, partnerships like the one with Sands and their Jimmy’s stores, are vital to the organization’s ongoing success.
“It’s very important for us to have brands like Sands Beer who continue to support us over the years,” added Miller. “We encourage other businesses to partner with us and be a part of the fight, especially to highlight the importance of early detection and assisting cancer patients throughout The Bahamas.”
Senior Brand Manager Joel Smith emphasized the company’s commitment to supporting meaningful causes. “Our partnership with the Cancer Society spans several years and is a reflection of our dedication as a Bahamian
brand to positively impact the lives of our fellow Bahamians,” Smith said.
Smith also underscored the importance of collaborative efforts in combating cancer. “The message I’d like to share with other companies and individuals about partnerships like this one is that everyone knows how serious cancer is and the impact it has—whether from being diagnosed or hearing that a loved one has been diagnosed,” he said. “With that in mind, we should all do our part to help with the fight. These donations do so much to assist organizations like the Cancer Society in caring for patients nationwide. This is no easy task, so the more help these organizations get, the better!
