The Disaster Reconstruction Authority (DRA) is currently working to repair twenty homes in East Grand Bahama. Home repair in Abaco is also set to begin shortly. This according to Chairman of the DRA, Alex Storr who spoke to ZNS News about the repair efforts.

He said, “we have conducted assessments for the past several weeks on the islands for persons who reached out to us for assistance. Those assessments are completed. We now have scope of works for everybody who has applied to us for assistance and I think that number is someplace in about 700 to 800. We are in the process making material lists so we can order the materials and then we be giving out contracts to contractors for the labour component.”

Storr says there is still time for persons that have yet to contract the DRA for re-assessments to do so.
