The blood bank at the Princess Margaret Hospital is receiving much attention since the death of Kenise Darville. With the added attention the blood bank has experienced a slight rise in donors.

In an effort to address the issue of blood shortage, officials at the hospital have announced plans to hold various blood drives. This was confirmed by the Minister of Health and Wellness outside of Cabinet this week. The Hon. Dr. Michael Darville said, “I think the managing director of the hospital clearly indicated that we’re planning to do a drive at the Mall At Marathon and other locations throughout the country which would de-bundle the influx at one small location and begin to have a strategy for collection.”
