The Minister of Immigration and Border Services in the Turks and Caicos Islands is in the country to attend the CARICOM meetings being held in the capital.

The Hon. Arlington Musgrove spoke with reporters about Haitian migration and repatriation in his country. He said, “in 2022-2023, we have repatriated over 2,355. In recent weeks, probably caught about eight hundred and something alone out of that. We’ve spent millions of dollars just on repatriation costs to the tone of about $8 million just repatriated the Haitian back to Haiti.”

Musgrove also noted that the ship rider agreement signed between his country and The Bahamas, along with assistance from the United States is helping combat the illegal migration issue.
