President of the Bahamas Union of Teachers, Belinda Wilson and teachers and other staff members of the Thelma Gibson Primary School protested at the Office of the Prime Minister seeking a resolution to their issues with the school’s principal, Olivia Daxon.
Wilson told members of the press, “teachers have no more confidence in the principal. We’ll use every avenue that we have whether its industrial or legal to have the matter resolved satisfactorily for the majority of the teachers, teacher’s aids, the librarian, the staff at Thelma Gibson Primary School. One person should not cause others to not be comfortable and work in a safe environment.”
ZNS News sought comment from Director of Labour, Robert Farquharson, he said that the matter is formally before him but he cannot comment on the issue any further.
