A 32 year old male bus driver was fatally shot in his bus while on his designated route. He is the 3rd victim of homicide for this week thus far and the 104th for the year. A teenaged male was also injured in this incident.
Police Press Liaison, Chief Superintendent Chrislyn Skippings was on the scene and briefed members of the press on the incident. She said, “information is that shortly before 10 o’ clock this morning a male was exiting a 15A bus in the area of Florida Court and Robinson Road. As he exited the bus, he approached the driver, fired a shot at the driver, killing him on scene.”
Family members who came to the scene identified the bus driver. However a formal positive identification would be done at a later time.
Chief Superintendent Skippings made a public appeal for information. She said, “you may have seen a vehicle leaving the area at a high rate of speed. You may have seen a suspect that may have exited the bus. We want you to reach out to the officers of the criminal investigation department and provide them with necessary information so that we can bring this matter to a close.”
