Minister of Works and Family Island Affairs, the Hon. Clay Sweeting, recently visited Abaco where he assessed the infrastructure in several communities.
Sweeting said, “we understand the need for roadworks, road paving, verge cleaning, drainage, infrastructural development, as well as needed dock development. We assessed the much needed infrastructure dock project there in Green Turtle Cay. We visited Central Pines as well as Sweeting’s Village.”
The works minister also spoke about when the work will begin to address the infrastructural issues. He said residents can expect to see the government begin seeking contractors. “In the next few months, you’ll see RFPs go out for road paving in Central and South Abaco, as well as the assessment has started for North Abaco inclusive of some of the cays that also need infrastructural works.”
