Staff members of the Broadcasting Corporation of The Bahamas’ Northern Service visited The Beacon School where they made a donation of Christmas gifts to students at the school during a special ceremony.

Organizer of the event, Radio Announcer, Derek Stubbs spoke at the gathering. He said, “at times we complain but we don’t celebrate enough. And so definitely I’m telling you I came with the ZNS team now for about two months and I’m so impressed and elated to be working with Ms. Allyson Smith the Deputy Senior General Manager of the Northern Service who welcomes the ideas and is willing to be onboard for whatever we want to do. “

Smith spoke on the sidelines of the event giving kudos to Stubbs for organizing the event. “It was his birthchild, something that he had been dreaming about since he started with ZNS about three weeks ago. We wanted to do more but due to some other challenges, you know, relocation, we decided we would come to The Beacon School and share some Christmas joy.”

School Principal, Titi McKenzie-Moss expressed her thanks for the event. “It takes a village to raise a child. So if everyone come and do their part we will ensure that our kids are successful and they do come into society and be productive.”
