Sandy Point, Abaco, residents displayed talent in the E. Clement Bethel National Arts Festival Abaco Adjudications that began on March 23, 2026, at the James A. Pinder Primary School. Students performed two songs as a choir, giving their own take on “Rise Up” by Audra Day, and the Gospel song “He Has Done Marvelous Things’. The female trio of Danae Edgecombe, Tyanna Thompson and D’Myah Virgil ministered through a liturgical dance to “Now Behold the Lamb” by Kirk Franklin. Third-grader Shaquan Bowe impressed on the Tom-Tom drum, as sixth-grader Tevon Strachan beat out Junkanoo rhythms on the goatskin drum. Wrapping the programme up was the five-man combo formed by Tevon Strachan, Alexander Davis, Tamal Barrett, Shaquan Bowe, and Tafarii Stuart; while residents joined the students outside for a “Junkanoo Parade School Rush Out”. Also displaying art and craft talent were community-entrant Allison Knowles and upper-primary students.
