Minister for Grand Bahama, the Hon. Ginger Moxey encouraged the scores of young men attending this year’s Boys to Men Youth Conference to take note of the theme of the conference, “Finding Your Identity,” and know that their identity is not something they stumble upon, but one that was given to them by God and is rooted in purpose.

The symposium was held on March 6, 2026 at Calvary Temple Church.
“Most people will tell you that your identity is a reflection of your surroundings; they want you to believe you are the product of your environment, but I am here to tell you that your environment is actually a product of you,” she said.
Minister Moxey told the young men that Grand Bahama is undergoing a massive shift and is no longer just an island of industry but is becoming the global home of innovation.
The youngsters heard that with the Government’s Innovate 242 and its Incubator presently under construction on Royal Palm Drive, the opportunities available for them will be endless.
“We will be building a tech ecosystem that requires your specific brand of brilliance. Grand Bahama is the home of maritime logistics, the home of events and entertainment and very soon we will launch the Young Innovators Club,” Minister Moxey said.
The minister pointed out to the boys the initiatives are not just Government projects, but empty chairs waiting for them to sit in them.
“When you realize that your identity is rooted in purpose, you stop being a passenger in Grand Bahama’s story and start becoming an architect,” she said.
“I want you to think in the future tense, don’t look at Grand Bahama for what it is today. Look at it for what it will be when you are the ones running the logistics hub, coding the next great software and producing the world’s premier entertainment right here on our shores.”
She inspired the young men to think of themselves as the innovators the country has been waiting for while pointing out to them that they are the heartbeat of Grand Bahama’s resurgence.
Minister Moxey also congratulated Conference Host and Founder of Reach Out Youth Organization Dudley Seide, Sr., for the community work of his team over the last two decades; and she highlighted this year’s conference honouree, H. Lindy Russell, whom she says played a pivotal role in the lives of many youngsters.
