The availability of several vaccines to fight the deadly covid 19 virus is bringing some relief to teachers across this country.

President of the Bahamas Union of Teachers, Belinda Wilson says the effective rate of the covid 19 vaccines lifts the fear for teachers who are in fear of contracting the virus as they administer face to face instruction in our public schools.

“Although they are in the early stages of roll out and trials are ongoing the efficacy of vaccines such as Pfizer and Moderna at 95percent and 94.5percent respectively gives us hope.

“And cognizant of the fact that teachers are on the front line and we are on the front line alongside 48,000 students in the public-school system” she said.
