The Bahamas Agricultural and Industrial Corporation (BAIC), hosted its second lecture on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Intellectual Property (IP) at the Franklyn Wilson Centre of the University of the Bahamas on Thursday evening, 19th June. It is one of a number of events that are part of the agency’s Business Empowerment for Entrepreneurs Lecture series held Thursday evenings throughout the month of June and on Tuesday, 1st July.
In attendance was General Manager of BAIC, Troy Sampson, Human Resources Manager, Deirdre Laroda and Assistant Manager, Lester Stuart, who also served as moderator. The presenters for the lecture included a virtual presentation by Co-Founder of Synergy and Director of Redstone, Garret Ritchie who discussed how Artificial Intelligence can be used to enhance businesses and assist entrepreneurs in taking their business to the next level to improve customer service, market trends, quality control and budgeting, among other services.
The second speaker was attorney Darell Taylor, who discussed the importance of protecting intellectual property using the country’s copyright, patent and trademarks laws. She highlighted some practical and useful ways that entrepreneurs can protect their businesses and original work.
The next lecture will be held on Thursday, 26th June.
