Bahamas Christian Council President, Bishop Delton Fernander said he is satisfied with the special consideration given to churches during this Christmas holiday season.
Prime Minister the Most Honourable Dr. Hubert Minnis on Sunday announced that from December 24 to January 3, 2021, church and religious services may be held after 10:00p.m. to accommodate midnight mass, watch-night and other liturgical services on New Providence, Grand Bahama, Abaco, Eleuthera and Exuma.
“The country has been locked down and although we have been worshipping, the triad of Christmas runs right into the New Year,” Bishop Fernander said.
“Different denominations have different practices that begin on Christmas Eve that will run right in to the New Year. And those are practices that not only talked about the way and paved the way for Jesus Christ but prepare us for that new year.”
