The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, Investments and Aviation gave an update on renovations being carried out on the British Colonial Hotel in the House Of Assembly on Monday.

The Hon. Chester Cooper told Parliamentarians, “I am pleased to tell you that the iconic British Colonial will open on December 12th with 288 renovated rooms and more than 300 Bahamians employed. We will continue to access opportunities in key source markets and will also strategically leverage Bahamas Air to bolster underserved markets and drive traffic, particularly, to Grand Bahama and Abaco.”

The hotel has been closed since last February.
