Kadren K. Carey and Tertanya A. Miller were recently named Presidents of the Bahamas Technical and Vocational Institute’s (BTVI) New Providence and Grand Bahama Alumni Association chapters respectively.
Their appointments follow a survey launched as part of an initiative conducted during a strategic planning consultancy and a distinguished alumni speaker series which led to the official start of the association.
BTVI’s Associate Vice President of Fund Development Alicia Thompson expressed that a group of nearly 100 alumni have been working in the background for the past two months in preparation for the launch.
“Our alumni are very busy people and it was challenging to get them engaged at first. Over the course of several weeks, we were able to retain a core group who were determined to get the association up and running,” said Ms. Thompson.
