Speaker of the House of Assembly, the Hon. Patricia Deveaux accepted a donation of six smart TVs from Chinese Ambassador to The Bahamas Her Excellency Dai Qingli on Tuesday.

At the presentation, Ambassador Qingli said, “China is a close friend of The Bahamas and we have had this friendship for nearly twenty six years. So we consider The Bahamas an important country in the Caribbean region and an important cooperation partner for China. Over the past twenty six years we have seen deepening trust and fruitful cooperation and growing exchanges between our institutions and the general public.”

In acceptance of the donation Speaker Deveaux told the Ambassador, “I want to continue to build relations with you as we move along and we continue to develop between both Parliaments and both countries as well. We want to say thank you we are very very grateful.”

According to the Speaker the televisions will be immediately installed in the House of Assembly and Senate to replace the current fourteen year old devices.
