In a bizarre turn of events Jermaine Miller and his young son both lost their lives at an  apartment in the area of Soldier Road.

President of the Bahamas Christian Council commented on the issue at a press conference held on Wednesday.  Apostle Delton Fernander said, “sometimes we take for granted the need of spiritual intervention, but I think as we counsel this family, as we go and try to bring relief to this situation we realize that as a society we’ve got to intervene when things are going away from the norm.”

Also in attendance at the press conference was Officer In Charge of the Criminal Investigations Department Chief Superintendent Michael Johnson who made an appeal to the public to ensure the protection of children.  “Our children are innocent and we must protect them at all cost.  It is very concerning to the police and I’m sure to members of the public when we have any incident involving children.  And so, I again appeal to persons, even if these persons are relatives of your children and you’re feeling uneasy with having those children to be in the company of those relatives you must at all costs protect the child,” Johnson said.
