Prime Minister the Most Hon. Dr. Hubert Minnis has appointed the Committee for the Development of Communities for Young Professionals.
Its chairman is Chief Operating Officer of the Prime Minister’s Delivery Unit Viana Gardiner.
The committee – which was formed in March – will advise the Prime Minister, as minister responsible for lands, on government-owned lands for young people to become homeowners, guide the administrative and technical development of young professional communities and work closely with government agencies responsible for subdivision developments.
Specific sub-committees comprising public and private sector professionals will also provide wider consultation and support.
The committee’s first project is the 83-acre Prospect Ridge Community for Young Professionals in western New Providence.
Committee members have already had meaningful dialogue with commercial financial institutions, architects and civil designers.
The Prospect Ridge Community application has been sent to the Department of Transformation and Digitization to place online for potential homeowners to submit supporting documents and track their application.
Details on the application process will be announced in the coming weeks.
