COVID-19 has claimed another life in The Bahamas even as new cases surge with the addition of another 75.
The deceased – a 73-year-old New Providence woman died Thursday, bringing the countrywide death toll to 222.
As for the new cases, 61 are on New Providence, eight on Cat Island and two each on Grand Bahama, the Berry Islands and Andros.
Broken down, that’s 39 males and 36 females. As of Wednesday, fifty-one people were in hospital, four of them in the intensive care unit.
Of the 11,397 local cases, 876 are active. Some 67 people recovered yesterday.
