Deputy Prime Minister, the Hon. Chester Cooper participated in a panel discussion at the 40th CANTO Conference being held at the Baha Mar Resort this week. The panel included representatives from other Caribbean countries such as Curacao, Bermuda and the Cayman Islands.
Cooper spoke to reporters on the sidelines of the event. He said, “I had occasion to talk about what I see as potential opposition working along with Space X partnership, building data centers perhaps but really investing in the infrastructure, ensuring that we’re building capacity and using our best minds, keeping out best minds at home. But collaboration and what I call copeeding I think is the key of CANTO’s Conference this week.”
The Deputy Prime Minister also serves as minister responsible for tourism highlighted the conferences impact on that industry. “As the minister of tourism I’m delighted to have almost 800 delegates here. You know its a great boost for tourism I’m happy that this is happening in The Bahamas and I’ve invited the delegates to visit some of the other islands of The Bahamas as well.”
The panel discussion was themed Beyond Connectivity: Charting the Next Frontier in National Transition. The conference ends July 16th.
