Continuing its mission to support and uplift communities throughout The Bahamas, the Ethan S. Bain Environmental Health Foundation has donated a much-needed garbage bin to the South Andros Senior Citizens Home. This generous contribution was officially presented by the Foundation’s Founder, Jacqueline Bain, to Bertram Taylor, Chairman of the Governing Committee for the Senior Citizens Home.
The donation marks the third in a series of contributions made by the Ethan S. Bain Foundation, which has been actively distributing garbage containers and a $500 monetary donation for essential cleaning supplies to facilities in need throughout The Bahamas. The initiative is part of the Foundation’s broader commitment to promoting environmental health and improving sanitary conditions across the islands.
The South Andros Senior Citizens Home plays a vital role in the community, offering care and housing to elderly residents in a secure and nurturing environment.
The home is managed by a dedicated committee led by Chairman Bertram Taylor, with Vice Chairman Esther Thompson, Secretary Charmaine Ferguson, Assistant Secretary Bernadette Rolle, Treasurer Rosalie Long, Assistant Treasurer Freda Gan, and Chaplain Estherlyn Holbert. The trustees of the home are Joshua Rolle, Lennard Miller, and Carlton Riley.
Speaking at the presentation, Jacqueline Bain noted, “At the Ethan S. Bain Foundation, we believe that every citizen, especially our seniors deserves a clean and healthy environment. We are honored to support the South Andros community in this way and to stand alongside the hardworking committee that ensures this home is well cared for.”
The Ethan S. Bain Environmental Health Foundation is a non-profit organization devoted to promoting health, sanitation, and environmental responsibility throughout The Bahamas.
