Chairperson the Free National Movement’s Bamboo Town Association, Monique Seymour appeared on The Rundown talk show this week where she addressed the nomination of Renward Wells to run for the Bamboo Town constituency in the upcoming general election.
When asked by host Clint Watson whether the FNM was imploding Seymour shared her opinion that the party had already imploded.
During her appearance the Bamboo Town Chair relayed how former Member of Parliament, Renward Wells was rejected for a nomination to run in the 2026 general election. Seymour said, “the data was too good for Mr. Renward Wells for the overwhelming support that people want Mr. Wells back in the Bamboo Town constituency. They wanted him back, especially the older folks. When you knock on those doors of people that own homes, not the apartments, cause people move in and out, the homes. Fifty age bracket to like eighty, ninety year old those are the persons crying for Mr. Wells.”
Seymour said the Association provided the party with their reports and overview. In response the FNM sent their coordinators into the constituency, picked by the leadership team. “And they got good reports as well that all was well in Bamboo Town.”
The findings were submitted to the FNM council which held a meeting last Thursday. Seymour says Wells was called into a four hour meeting the next day and was ultimately told that he would not receive a nomination. The party cited health and financial reasons for the decision.
According to Seymour FNM Leader, the Hon. Michael Pintard admitted that he never planned to run Wells and that they FNM is considering former Senator Heather Hunt for the Bamboo Town nomination.
