Community Health Services Clinical Director on the island of Grand Bahama is explaining the importance of immunizations for students.

Dr. Stacy Bevans-Laing said, “these immunizations have been studied and tested and have been found to be very effective.  The immunizations basically help with the prevention of numerous infectious diseases.  It protects the kids from diseases such as Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Pertussis, which is whooping cough, Polio, Hepatitis, Chicken Pox and there are many others that we give immunizations for.”

Dr. Bevans-Laing encouraged people with school medical forms to come in so that if a child needs a series of vaccines there is enough time for that to be done and their school medical forms completed.
