Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture, the Hon. Mario Bowleg disclosed that this year’s Junkanoo parade will have greater attendance than in years before. The Minister made the statement while attending a press event to accept a $30,000 donation from KFC.
Bowleg said, “all of the seats are gone. So if persons intend to come out on Bay Street without a ticket, they should look forward to standing around as we all did in our earlier days when we used to go Junkanoo when we couldn’t afford ticket when we was in high school. But its gonna be much more larger crowd than we would have seen over the years on Bay Street that is expected.”
KFC has partnered with the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture with a $30,000 donation to the parades. Director of Operations for KFC, Mario Cash said, “KFC is extremely excited to see the return of Junkanoo back to Bay Street for this upcoming Boxing Day parade. We’re also proud to sponsor with the Ministry of Youth, Culture with a donation of $30,000 to the culture. We’ll also like to thank the minister for this participation.”
