Man arraigned in Magistrates Court for New Years Eve incident


Twenty-three-year-old Deno Francis facing a magistrate Wednesday on a murder charge. The Fleming Street resident is accused of killing Holice Arahna back on New Year’s Eve 2020, in the Rupert Dean Lane area.

Reports are that shortly after 8pm, police were alerted by shot spotter to shots being fired in the area of Rupert dean lane, off poinciana drive.

Enquiries revealed that a male was shot multiple times about the body. He was taken to hospital by private vehicle, however he later died from his injuries.

In court, Aranha was not called on to enter plea to the indictable offence, bail was denied, and he was remanded to the Bahamas department of corrections.

The case has been adjourned.
