The Acting President of the National Congress of Trade Unions of The Bahamas is voicing his concerns on contract workers.

Dwayne Woods told ZNS News, “we see this as a creature that ought to be destroyed. The past administration apparently introduced this type of worker and it is detrimental and was only put in place to deprive workers of benefits that they basically should inherit.”

Woods added, “the government has gone beyond the call of duty and had signed more than twenty industrial agreements and there’s only eight remaining. So we look forward to the other eight being signed in short order as well as the issues that face unionize workers today and non unionize workers being resolved.”
