Bahamasair and the Public Managers Union signed a new industrial agreement at the Office of the Prime Minister on Wednesday.
At the signing ceremony Bahamasair Managing Director, Tracy Cooper said, “it’s always good when the airline can come to an agreement with our union partners and by extension our staff. We were able to negotiate in good faith and be able to bring this thing to a close in a reasonable period of time. I’d like to thank you therefore, President Munnings, to you and your team negotiating in good faith.”
Public Managers Union President, Leslie Munnings promised more change in the next five years. He said, “we’re going to communicate that the contract is signed and what are some of the specifics of the contract that means that our members need to know that there’s increased opportunities for education. The union will over the next several months be working with HR to perhaps fine tone a performance appraisal system. We’re going to be working with, again, HR in reviewing their cell phone mobile plan because a number of our members must be available at all hours and in unusual circumstances.”
