Minister of Health and Wellness, the Hon. Dr. Michael Darville tabled the Health Promotion and Wellness Bill 2025 in the House of Assembly last month.
While addressing attendees at the Global HEALinc Summit Dr. Darville said, “this bill is designed to promote public health and wellness across the entire country focusing on preventative measures to reduce the burden of non-communicable diseases like diabetes, cardiovascular disease, renal failure and hypertension.”
According to the minister the government is creating a healthier, more vibrant population with sustainable longevity. “In doing so my ministry aims to improve quality of life, reduce health care costs and provide every Bahamian with the opportunity to access many life changing therapies in our country to live longer and healthy lives.”
The summit is being held at the Atlantis resort from April 27th-29th.
