Minister of Health the Hon. Renward Wells and the newly appointed U.S. Chargé d’ affaires Usha Pitts, discussed the ongoing covid-19 pandemic, and its impact on the global community recently.
Pitts paid a courtesy call to Wells Thursday, at the Ministry of Health.
There, officials also addressed the country’s rollout AstraZeneca vaccine in country.
Also at the courtesy call were acting permanent secretary in the Ministry of Health, Siobhan Deane, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Pearl McMillan, and Political Officer at the U.S. embassy, Todd Sargent.
Pitts also shared details of the vaccine rollout in the U.S. and the country’s plans to assist the Bahamas and the region with their own vaccination efforts.
