There was a recent orca or killer whale sighting in the waters of Abaco.
Executive Director of the Bahamas Marine Mammal Research Organization Diane Claridge sheds lights on the mammals appearance in Bahamian waters. She said, “since we first started gathering records of orca sightings there’s now at least fifty sighting records from The Bahamas.”
As to whether boaters should be concerned Claridge said, “here in The Bahamas we don’t have any incidence of orcas interacting with boats with any type of aggression.”
