Pan-American health organization officials are urging countries to prepare for what could become a dual threat this summer – hurricanes and the COVID-19 pandemic.
PAHO Director, Carissa Etienne says countries must ensure health services are fully operational in the coming weeks, making certain emergency care, laboratories and isolation centers are fully protected.
The organization is set to speak with several disaster agencies across the Americas on June 10th to identify resources and adjust readiness plans.
