The Progressive Liberal Party celebrated its second year as the governing party with a service of thanksgiving at Mt. Tabor Church on Sunday.

Prime Minister and Party Leader, the Hon.  Philip Davis addressed congregants at the service speaking of the party’s last two years in office.  He said, “our first priority was to drive the recovery of the economy and job market, strengthen the health care system and reopen schools.  So many people were suffering financially going hungry and praying for better days.  We moved immediately to expand support to those who needed it most.”

In his remarks Davis also admitted that there is more work to be done. “When it comes to the development of our nation we’re not interested in excuses.  We want to see more income equality, peaceful communities, food security, improved public health care and more opportunities for Bahamians to own homes and successful businesses.”

The Progressive Liberal Party became the governing party on September 16th, 2021 after defeating the Free National Movement at the polls.
