Police officers took in a man for questioning this morning after he was caught with an illegal firearm yesterday.
The incident took place around eight o’clock Wednesday morning.
Officers were on routine patrol in the area of Joe Farrington road when they saw a man who acted in a suspicious manner when he saw the police.
Officers approached the man, searched him and found a pistol in his waist.
He was arrested and taken into custody in connection with the matter.
Investigations continue.
