A disabled vessel with two (2) occupants onboard was brought into Her Majesty’s Bahamian Ship CORAL HARBOUR by members of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force, after being rescued southwest of the capital Tuesday morning. At approximately 11:30 am, the RBDF Operations Command Center was alerted of a distressed vessel about a mile off Coral Harbour. The RBDF Safe Boat, coxswained by Chief Petty Officer Ronnie Neymour, responded immediately to assist in the rescue efforts.

The disabled vessel was positively identified by the newly acquired Coastal Radar System at HMBS Coral Harbour. Both men, who were apparently engaged in fishing prior to the incident, were in fair health when they were rescued. The Royal Bahamas Defence Force remains committed to protecting the territorial integrity of The Bahamas and assisting those in need.
